Bone Glue by Ardec

Discontinued

Bone Glue is used in the gluing of wood and other woodworking and carpentry projects. Bone Glue swells with moisture and shrink in dry times, it follows the hygrometry of wood to which it is used.

Contrary to modern glue, Bone Glue is reversible, it can be worked in a Bain-Marie.

Directions of use

Preparation : Use a glass or a copper container to prepare the Bone Glue, do not use metallic container.

100 g of Bone Glue for 200 to 300 ml of water.

Soak the glue in cold water for 6 to 12 hours in cold water until desired viscosity. Melt using a Bain-Marie for 15 to 20 minutes, do not exceed 65°C, stir using a wooden object. With the temperature rising, a foam will appear on the surface, this means that the glue is ready to use.

Caution, never boil, the more the glue is heated, the less it will be resistant.
