Lacquer Thinner

Discontinued

Recochem’s Lacquer Thinner is primarily used to thin solvent based lacquers. It should be added to the lacquer gradually, in small quantities, so as to use as little as possible: Just enough to make it flow freely, since making it too liquid will result in running and dripping of the lacquer, potentially ruining the finish.

Recochem Lacquer Thinner is also recommended for easily removing old sticky varnishes on furniture, as well as for cleaning spray guns and spraying equipment used for lacquer paints. DIY enthusiasts who wicker furniture use Lacquer Thinner to flush out equipment after each use and to clean brushes.

Recochem Lacquer Thinner's main active ingredient is toluene, which is less flammable than acetone, making it better suited for domestic use. Do not use Lacquer Thinner with shellac.

How to Use

To reduce lacquer based paints, add directly to lacquer while stirring. Always use minimum amount of thinner necessary to obtain the desired results instead of the maximum amount the lacquer will tolerate. For cleaning spray guns, brushes, rollers, etc. Immerse in thinner. Soak for 5-10 minutes, remove and leave to dry.
